Living Room Updates

I know you both might be horrified that we got Lazy Boy type chairs. You guys are a little more contemporary then I am. But I really like them! They add a really cozy, comfortable, homey touch to the room. At first when Austin pointed them out I said "No way!" but that all changed the second I sat in one. They are by far the most comfortable things my bottom has ever come in contact with. Austin and I are all about comfy and cozy. Even before style. And it was either this set up or a sectional couch that Austin really wanted. I did not want a sectional! It's not that I don't like them, I just think they are so impractical. Sure it might work in this house, but what about our next one. And there will be plenty of "next ones"! So this was the compromise! Tada! Oh and I think I'm going to spray paint that gold mirror so it matches the tables. (Isn't that mirror great? It's so me!)

And it gives you an idea of how big the couch is if it makes Koda look that tiny... I'm thinking about putting a rug in the living room. What do you guys think? Too much? It would be something very simple and neutral.

The first thing I thought when I saw this photo was "that mirror is so Brittany"... then I thought "Koda looks really small" Then I noticed the chairs and thought "Ewww lazy boys?" No I'm totally kidding on the last one. I love that you guys always do what works best for you. And it definitely works. They look SO comfy! I'm a fan of rugs. A rug will bring the sitting area together and they always make a room feel even more cozy and put together. I say go for it!

I'm so happy I finally get to see your new living room! Wow..who would have thought getting rid of Austin's bachelor pad furniture would make such a difference! :) Everything looks so great. I'm in love with that mirror! I'm a huge fan of rugs, even on carpet, for defining an area. I've actually been searching for the perfect new rug for our family room to tie everything together (and protect the carpet from baby/dog spit up). Some places to check you may not have thought of..overstock (although it scares me to order something like that I can't easily return..good selection at good prices though), Lowes (they have a huge selection of big rugs), and walmart had some not cheapo looking rugs at good prices I was considering. Good luck!

If you go to Lowes sometimes you can buy their display rugs for cheaper. Also try Bed Bath and Beyond. You can always use the 20% off coupons and look for sales. We got ours on sale and used the coupon too, so it was really cheap considering how expensive rugs can get.
